Garbage pickup is for residents inside city limits only. Garbage will be picked up at the curb of State and Town roads. No service is provided on private roads. For residential services garbage is picked up on Thursdays and Fridays of every week, using the Tuckasegee River that flows through the middle of Bryson City as the dividing point. Thursday's schedule is all residents on the same side of the Tuckasegee River as the Post Office, Administration Building, and the Swain County High School. Friday's schedule is all residents on the same side of the Tuckasegee River as Main Street, the Federal Building, and the Swain County Middle School. If you are unsure of your pickup up day or location, call the Town Hall for additional information.
